With the passage of time, the internet era is becoming increasingly widespread. Wireless is now a household name. Today, an electronic antenna manufacturer will take you on a journey into the internet age.

We know that radio equipment, such as communications, radar, navigation, broadcasting, and television, all transmit information via radio waves and require both the radiation and reception of radio waves. In radio equipment, the device used to radiate and receive radio waves is called an antenna. Antennas provide the necessary coupling between the transmitter or receiver and the medium that propagates the radio waves. Antennas, like transmitters and receivers, are also essential components of radio equipment.

Antennas radiate and receive radio waves. However, the waves sent from the transmitter to the antenna via the feeder are not radio waves, and the receiving antenna cannot directly transmit radio waves to the receiver via the feeder; they must undergo an energy conversion process. Below, we will use radio communication equipment as an example to analyze the signal transmission process and further illustrate the energy conversion function of antennas. At the transmitting end, the modulated high-frequency oscillating current (energy) generated by the transmitter is fed into the transmitting antenna via a feed device (the feed device can directly transmit current waves or electromagnetic waves, depending on the frequency and form). The transmitting antenna converts the high-frequency current or guided waves (energy) into radio waves—free electromagnetic waves (energy)—which are radiated into the surrounding space (see Figure 1). At the receiving end, the radio waves (energy) are converted into high-frequency current or guided waves (energy) by the receiving antenna and transmitted via the feed device to the receiver. As can be seen from the above process, the antenna is not only a device that radiates and receives radio waves, but also an energy converter, serving as an interface between circuits and space.
